How we check app prices
Every price on this site comes from the app's own pricing page, its help center, or its listing in the US App Store. We do not copy numbers from other comparison sites, and we never make up ratings, reviews or user numbers.
Read from the US, without an account
We read prices as a new visitor from the United States would see them, in US dollars, without logging in. Many apps hide their prices until you sign up; for those we show "?" and say why, instead of guessing. We cover 13 apps.
What "what you really pay" means
Apps like to show a low price per month that only applies if you pay for a whole year up front. We always show the price per month without a contract first, then the lowest price with a commitment together with what is actually charged ("$3.99/mo, billed $47.88 yearly"). When an app only shows a price per month, we work out the total and mark it with *.
Tokens and credits
Many apps charge tokens, coins, gems or credits for images, video and voice on top of the plan. We list what a plan includes and what one action costs, where the app publishes it. "What it costs at your use" adds the plan price and any extra credits you would need, and shows "?" when an app doesn't publish what something costs.
Quick picks
Our quick picks follow simple rules on these numbers, such as the lowest month-to-month price or the most images per dollar. Each pick says the fact behind it.
Every number has a source and a date
Each price on our pages has a link to where we read it and the date we checked it. Prices in this market change often, so we re-check them regularly and update the date.
How we earn money
Some links are affiliate links: we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Rankings are based on price only; an app that pays us is not moved up. For adults (18+) only.
